The regulation
This section aims to provide the user with some information relating to the use of cookies by the IAASS site pursuant to articles 13 and 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, relating to privacy, and based on the provision of privacy guarantor no. 229 of 8 May 2014.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files sent by the server to the device you are using (desktop, laptop, mobile device, smartphone, etc.). Their function is to store information relating to navigation, expressed preferences or to set security levels, for a period of time that varies depending on the cookie. To learn more about their functioning, you can visit the section of the privacy guarantor’s website at: http://www.garanteprivacy.it/cookie. Two main types of cookies have been identified:
– TECHNICAL cookies, divided into:
navigation: allow navigation of the contents of certain areas of the site (e.g. restricted access sections, etc.);
analytics: they have the task of collecting data to aggregate to provide information on the number and types of visits;
functionality: they extend the normal functionality of the site (e.g. choice of language, saving preferences, etc.);
– PROFILING cookies: they collect data to create a profile of the users who browse the site.
Cookies of these 2 types can also be:
session, when they are deleted at the end of browsing (for example by closing the browser);
persistent, when they remain on the user’s computer even after the browsing session ends;
first party, when they are generated by the same site you are visiting;
third party, when they are generated by sites other than the site you are visiting.
Provision of consent to the use of cookies
Consent to the use of cookies is provided by clicking on the “[OK I ACCEPT]” button, present in the banner highlighted on the site’s homepage. Even simply browsing the site after viewing the banner is considered acceptance. The preference is recorded in a cookie which will remain on the user’s device for 30 days, after which consent will need to be provided again.
Disabling cookies
Bearing in mind that blocking cookies completely or partially could make the services offered by the site non-functional and some sections inaccessible, you can, however, disable them by following the instructions provided by the browser you use.
